Terms of Use
Welcome to YRNA (“You Are Not Alone”), a browser-based social virtual-reality experience operated by Formition (“YRNA”, “we”, “us”). By visiting this website or entering the experience you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. The service
YRNA is a shared virtual beach you can visit from a web browser, phone or VR headset. It includes multiplayer rooms, text and voice chat, AI-driven characters and guided activities. The service is provided for personal, non-commercial enjoyment. We may add, change, suspend or remove features at any time without notice.
2. All-ages content, adults-only multiplayer
- YRNA is designed to be safe for all ages. All content we publish is, and will remain, suitable for a general audience, and all spaces are public.
- Multiplayer features — shared rooms, text chat and voice chat — are available only to users aged 18 and over.
- Visitors under 18 are welcome in solo mode only: they can explore the beach and its activities but are not connected to other people.
- If you are under 18, or you do not confirm that you are 18 or over, you must use solo mode. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors’ use of the service.
- We may remove access, or move a session to solo mode, if we believe an age declaration is false.
3. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- harass, threaten, abuse or impersonate other users, or share content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit or otherwise inappropriate for a general audience;
- disrupt the service — including probing, overloading, interfering with sessions, or attempting to gain unauthorised access to the service, its servers or other users’ data;
- use the service to collect information about other users;
- use bots, scripts or automation to access the service, other than standard web browsers and assistive technology;
- use the service for advertising or commercial solicitation without our written permission.
4. Our content — no downloading or extraction
Everything that makes up YRNA — including 3D models, characters, animations, environments, textures, artwork, logos, names, audio, music arrangements, code and the design of the experience — is owned by us or licensed to us by third parties, and is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual-property laws worldwide.
You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access this content through your browser solely to use the experience as intended. You must not:
- download, extract, rip, scrape, copy or store any 3D models, textures, audio, artwork or other assets served by this site;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or create derivative works from the service or its assets;
- re-host, redistribute, sell or sublicense any part of the service or its content;
- remove or obscure any credit, watermark or proprietary notice.
Third-party content is used under licence from its respective owners (see the credits on the home page); those owners retain all rights, and nothing here grants you any rights to their work.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you say and type. By using chat or voice you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to transmit, display and process that content as needed to operate the service (for example, relaying your words to other users in your room, or transcribing a voice message you send). Keep your content lawful and appropriate for a general audience. We may moderate, filter or remove content and may suspend users who break these rules.
6. Privacy
We aim to collect as little as possible: a display name you choose, the room code you enter, avatar preferences stored in your own browser, and the technical data needed to run a live session. Voice chat is relayed live between participants. Chat sent to AI residents is processed by our AI provider to generate replies. We do not sell personal information. 7. Safety and moderation
We may monitor public spaces for safety, apply automated filters, and suspend or block access (temporarily or permanently) for behaviour that breaks these terms, without notice. If you encounter behaviour that makes you uncomfortable, leave the room and report it to us.
8. Availability, beta status and changes
YRNA is under active development and is provided as a beta. Features may change, break or disappear, sessions may be interrupted, and saved preferences may be reset. We may modify or discontinue the service at any time.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement. VR experiences can cause motion discomfort in some people; take breaks, remain aware of your physical surroundings, and stop if you feel unwell. AI characters generate responses automatically; their statements are not our views and should not be relied on as advice.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to AUD $50. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law and equivalent protections in other jurisdictions.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the service.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Where local law grants you mandatory protections or a different forum, those rights are unaffected.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above will change when we do, and continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
